The Grand Hotel Rimini is a five-star hotel in Rimini, Italy, the only five-star property in the city as well as the only one with private beach. The hotel was opened in 1908, overcame many reconstructions and finally in 1994 was granted the status of national monument. It is under the protection of the Superintendent of Fine Arts. The hotel owes its world fame to Federico Fellini. As a poor child he used to look through the gates of the hotel dreaming of the life its rich guests led. The hotel is featured in many films, particularly in Amarcord. Fellini himself stayed there in his favourite suite for many times when he became successful. It was actually in this room he had the lethal collapse while talking over the phone. The room is now a kind of museum and a wildly requested highlight.
